Wendy had suggested that I created a content around being the program coordinator at Wentors and the first thought that came to mind was a scenario that had played out after an event we successfully concluded;
Edu says: Principal!
Oma says: No, its Time Keeper!
Me: :woman-facepalming:
I rolled over in laughter after hearing this because it was true and these titles represented part of the work I do.
As a Program Coordinator my role involved a mix of both but while penning this writeup, I thought about what my frustrations usually were and rewards and decided that I wanted to dive in further down this trail and highlight a point or two.
Well for one I knew that, I always got frustrated when we couldn’t recruit enough wentors to pair with a large pool of wentees waiting to receive support.
The pain of looking at the waiting list was challenging to me and streamed down to the entire team at Wentors, however we would usually continue to develop new recruitment strategies in hopes that more women would see the vision and run with us in achieving our mission.
Drumroll to revealing my reward Please…
Seeing pairs grow in their relationship was always fulfilling but more so, receiving fantastic feedbacks from wentees took it a step further into validating our goal as a company. To be honest, I draw strength from the little things that create lasting impact and as a Program Coordinator, I’ll proudly come knocking on your LinkedIn connect button requesting for your helping hand because I believe that “No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another”
Thanks to everyone who stayed till the end of my confession, it was a pleasure sharing this with you!
